About Rolf

From the very beginning of his career, people noticed something different about Rolf van de Kerkhof. It wasn’t just his championship record or his ability to build teams that win with integrity—it was the way he truly sees people.

Former players still recall the moments that had nothing to do with trophies: the quiet conversation after practice when he sensed something was wrong before a word was spoken… the handwritten notes he mailed to families… the way he celebrated academic breakthroughs with the same joy as athletic victories. Rolf has always believed that excellence is built on human connection.

Born and raised in the Netherlands, Rolf grew up with a global understanding of community. His upbringing taught him that leadership isn’t about directing from the front—it’s about lifting others from beside them. Over the past 25 years, he has carried this philosophy into every campus, team, and family he has served.

What makes Rolf exceptional is that his gifts extend far beyond the field. He is a rare blend of educator, coach, admissions partner, advancement collaborator, and culture builder. He leads with empathy, acts with integrity, and builds with intention—qualities that allow students to thrive academically, athletically, and personally under his guidance.

With over two decades of experience in collegiate coaching, advancement strategy, enrollment collaboration, community engagement, and youth development, Rolf brings both depth and heart to every community he touches. He has the steadiness of a mentor, the insight of a strategist, and the warmth of a leader who is genuinely called to this work.

As Associate Director for Admissions, Advancement, and Athletics, Rolf will bring the full force of his experience to Sanford—strengthening student recruitment, building donor relationships, elevating school visibility, and inspiring student success. He doesn’t just lead programs—he strengthens people, supports families, and builds communities that thrive.
